Integration and data
Integrations between the tools you already use, a common data model and dashboards that show the state of operations without asking for a report.
Who it is for
Companies whose same data lives in several systems, such as the ERP, the CRM, spreadsheets or industry tools, where nobody knows which one is right or reports are put together by hand. It works when the tools already exist and what is missing is for them to talk to each other.
Signs of the problem
- The same data is typed into more than one system.
- Two reports for the same period give different figures.
- To know how operations are going, you have to ask someone for a report.
- Spreadsheets act as the bridge between systems.
- Every change in one system means checking the others by hand.
Scope
- An inventory of systems, data and the flows between them.
- One source of truth per data item and a common data model.
- Integrations between the systems the process needs.
- Operations dashboards with the agreed measures.
- Data quality control: duplicates, empty fields and mismatches.
What we deliver
- A map of systems and data, with the source of truth for each data item.
- Working integrations, tested and documented.
- Dashboards with the definition of each measure.
- A procedure for when an integration fails.
- Training for whoever runs and maintains the connections.
Integrations
Which ones and how depends on your systems and the interfaces they offer: APIs, exports or databases. It is studied in the diagnosis; we do not assume a system can be connected until we have checked.
Controls
- Each integration accesses only what it needs, with dedicated credentials.
- Synchronisation failures raise an alert and are logged.
- Data keeps its origin: you can tell where each figure on a dashboard comes from.
- Changes to the connections are documented.
What it does not include
- Migrating or replacing your management systems.
- Connecting systems that offer no vendor-supported way to access their data.
- Large-scale analytics platforms when the problem does not call for them.
- Endless custom reports: an agreed set of dashboards is delivered.
How we measure it
We compare against the agreed baseline: data typed more than once, discrepancies between systems, report preparation time, and how current the data seen by management is.
Next step
Tell us which systems you use and where the data goes out of step. A first conversation is to understand the process and assess whether we are a good fit; if we are not the right option, we will say so.
